ConGen2025 Admission

Plan for admission selection: An admission committee evaluates all applications based on merit and requested need.

The admission committee emphasizes advanced applicants (graduate students, postdocs, assistant professors, administrators in conservation, etc.) with several principal groups represented:

1. Advanced students from research centers or institutions who can demonstrate that they will make use of their training in their careers

2. Postdoctoral fellows working in conservation genetics or a related field.

3. Young faculty who are developing research programs in conservation genetics or a related field

4. Wildlife managers from the developing world who will benefit from understanding and applying conservation genetic information.

5. Conservation professionals from around the world who are looking to implement molecular and computer techniques in their work

Individual scholarship and financial need are primary considerations for scholarship awards by the committee. The course is advanced and requires a preliminary working knowledge of genetics/genomics, conservation biology, and computer and next-generation sequencing laboratory techniques.  The geographic location, gender and ethnic diversity of applicants will all be considered strongly in overall admissions.

To receive full consideration for the class, the applications must be submitted before June 6th, 2024.  Regular applications will be considered until September 15th, 2024. Successful applications submitted after June 6th date will be eligible for regular registration ( $2,750 ), and will be prioritized in order of being received.  Please apply early, we will not be able to accommodate everyone since the spots are limited.
